Free Website Design · Terms

The whole deal, on one readable page.

Most "free website" terms are either missing or unreadable. Ours are neither. This is the plain-English version of the agreement that forms part of every Free Website Design order. Last updated 11 June 2026.

1. What the offer is

We (Manchester PC Services LTD, trading as Manchester PC, Company No. 13356970) design and build a professional website for your business at no upfront cost. If you approve the design, the website goes live and you pay a monthly plan from £29.99 per month including VAT, depending on the plan you choose (Starter Website, Growth Lead Website or AI-Ready Lead System). The plan includes managed hosting, SSL, professional email, updates and support; the Growth and AI-Ready plans also include lead-management features. Launch pricing is available for a limited time and may change. Online shops, booking and membership systems and larger custom features are not part of this offer and are quoted separately.

This service is offered to businesses, not consumers. The free design is one concept per business; we may politely decline projects that are not a good fit, and speculative, repeat, or agency/third-party requests. If we decline, you owe nothing.

2. The free design stage

You pay nothing, and give no payment details, until you have seen the finished design and approved it. We will make reasonable revisions to get it right. If you decide not to go ahead, you owe nothing and we both walk away.

The design we show you, including any preview, mock-up, screenshots, page wording and images, remains our property throughout this stage. It is shown to you only so you can decide whether to go ahead. Viewing or approving it gives you no right to copy it, screenshot or reproduce it, share it with another developer or business, or use it (in whole or in part) to build or commission a website elsewhere. If you do not proceed, the design and everything in it stays ours.

3. What the monthly fee covers

The plan covers: managed UK hosting, SSL certificate, professional email (1, 3 or 5 mailboxes depending on the plan), security updates, daily backups, support, and small content changes (for example new prices, photos, opening hours or staff details). The Growth and AI-Ready plans also include a lead-management backend for storing and tracking enquiries. Larger changes (new pages, redesigns, new features) are quoted before any work is done. Email migration, historic mailbox transfer or complex email setup may be quoted separately.

Your monthly price is fixed while you subscribe. We will give at least 30 days’ written notice of any price change, and you are free to cancel or buy out instead of accepting it.

4. Contract length and cancelling

There is no long contract and no minimum term. The subscription runs on a monthly basis, starting the day your site goes live. You can cancel at any time by giving 30 days’ notice in writing (email is fine). Payments already made are not refundable.

We design and build your site before you pay us anything, and the free design stage carries no obligation: you only start paying if you approve the site and choose to go live. When the subscription ends, the website is taken offline (see section 6), because the build remains ours unless you buy it out (section 7).

5. Who owns what

Always yours: your domain name (registered in your name from day one), the content you provide to us (your existing text, your own photographs and your logo), and your data (enquiries and customer details collected through the site). If you leave, your domain stays with you and we export your provided content and your data to you free of charge.

Ours, licensed to you while you subscribe: everything we create or source to build your website. That means the design, layout and code, and also any page wording and copy we write, any graphics or icons we make, and any stock or licensed images we add on your behalf. While your subscription is active you have a licence to use all of it as your live business website. None of it becomes yours by paying the monthly fee, for any length of time; it becomes yours only if you buy it out (section 7).

In short: what you brought to us stays yours, and what we made for you stays ours until you pay the buyout. While our work remains ours you may not copy, reproduce, screenshot for reproduction, download the source files, reverse-engineer, scrape, or reuse the design, code, our wording or our images, and you may not pass any of it to another developer, agency or business. The live site is provided as a service to use while you subscribe, not as files to keep, and we do not hand over source or editable files unless and until you buy it out.

6. What happens when the subscription ends

When your subscription ends, by cancellation or non-payment, the website is taken offline. From that point you must stop using the website and anything we created for it; only your own provided content and your data remain yours to take, and we export those to you free of charge. Your domain goes with you because it was always registered in your name. Email mailboxes connected to the hosting may also stop when the plan ends, unless you move them to another provider first. We keep a backup of the site for 30 days in case you change your mind, after which it is permanently deleted.

If a payment fails we will tell you and retry; if payment is more than 14 days overdue we may suspend the site until the account is brought up to date.

7. Buying the website outright

Every order form states a fixed buyout price for your website, agreed before we build it. Pay the buyout price and the website becomes entirely yours, including the design, the code, and the content we wrote or created for it: we transfer the files, assign to you the rights we hold in the build and that content, pass across or replace any image licences where we can, and help you move it to any host you choose. Until the buyout is paid in full, none of the build or our content is yours to keep, copy or move.

You can buy out at any time for the fixed price stated on your order. The buyout price never goes up: it is the number on your order, full stop.

8. Your responsibilities

You confirm that any text, photographs, logo and other material you provide are genuinely yours to use, do not infringe anyone else’s rights, and are legal, accurate and not misleading. You are responsible for what your website says about your business (including prices, claims and regulatory wording for your industry), and you agree to cover us for any third-party claim arising from material you provided. We may decline to publish content that is unlawful or that we reasonably believe could expose either of us to liability.

9. Our responsibilities and limits

We will provide the service with reasonable skill and care, and aim for the site to be available at all times, though no host can guarantee 100% uptime, and we are not liable for outages caused by third-party infrastructure, your domain registrar, or events outside our reasonable control.

Our total liability to you in connection with this service is limited to the subscription fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited.

10. The legal bits

These terms, together with your signed order form, are the whole agreement. They are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If we update these terms, the version you signed with your order continues to apply to your subscription.
