Service 04 · Website Maintenance & Support
Your Website, Kept Fast, Secure and Up to Date
A website is never finished. It needs updates, security patches, backups and a watchful eye. We look after all of it for a simple monthly fee, with a real person to call when something needs changing.
Plain English. No hard sell. A straight answer before you commit.
Sound familiar?
When did anyone last look after your website?
Most small-business websites are built, launched and then abandoned. The developer moves on, the logins get lost, the software quietly goes out of date, and nobody notices until something breaks, or worse, gets broken into.
An unmaintained website is not a finished job. It is a slow-motion liability.
- The site hasn’t been touched since it was built
- Nobody is sure who has the logins any more
- Small text changes take weeks because the old developer vanished
- You worry about being hacked but don’t know what protection you have
- You’d have no idea if the site went down at 9pm
We start by identifying where you can genuinely save time and money.
The cost of doing nothing
Neglect is cheap right up until it isn’t
Out-of-date software is how small-business sites get hacked, and a hacked site means downtime, blacklisting on Google, and awkward conversations with customers. Even without a hack, a slowing, ageing site sheds visitors a few percent at a time, invisibly.
If your site went down on a Friday afternoon and nobody noticed until Monday, that could be a whole weekend of enquiries lost, and recovering a hacked site typically costs far more than years of maintenance.
The practical fix
What looking after it properly means
Updates & security
Software updates, security patches and SSL kept current, so the common attacks find nothing to grab onto.
Backups that actually restore
Daily backups, tested, so the worst day ends with "restored from last night" instead of "start again".
Content changes on request
New prices, photos, pages or seasonal offers: send them over and they’re done quickly, by someone who knows your site.
Performance monitoring
Speed, uptime and Core Web Vitals watched continuously. A slow site quietly loses customers; we make sure yours doesn’t.
A real person to call
When something needs changing or looks wrong, you call Manchester, not a ticket queue in another timezone.
Plain-English reporting
A short regular summary of what was done, how the site performed and what we recommend next. No 40-page PDFs.
The transformation
Before and after
Before
- Software quietly going out of date
- Backups assumed, never tested
- Changes waiting weeks for a vanished developer
- No one watching speed or uptime
- Hack risk growing month by month
- The website as a nagging worry
After
- Updates and patches handled monthly
- Daily, tested, restorable backups
- Changes done in days by people who know the site
- Speed and uptime monitored continuously
- Security risks closed before they’re found
- The website as a solved problem
In your business
What it looks like in practice
For businesses with a vanished developer
A landscaper’s developer stopped replying two years ago. We recover the logins, update everything safely, set up backups and take over: the backlog of changes is done in the first week.
For e-commerce businesses
A small online shop can’t afford downtime in November. Monitoring catches a failing plugin on a Tuesday night; it is fixed before breakfast and the owner reads about it in the monthly summary instead of in customer complaints.
For busy owner-managers
A consultancy updates its team, prices and case studies quarterly. Instead of wrestling with an editor at midnight, the owner emails the changes and they are live, proofed, the next day.

Questions
Asked before, answered honestly
My site was built by someone else. Can you still maintain it?
Almost always, yes. We start with a health check, recover or reset the access that is missing, bring everything safely up to date and then take over from there. You do not need to rebuild to be looked after.
What counts as a "content change"?
The routine things: text, prices, photos, opening hours, team members, new testimonials and the like. Bigger jobs, like new sections or features, are quoted separately before any work is done.
What happens if my site gets hacked?
On a maintenance plan it is far less likely, because patched sites are rarely worth an attacker’s time. If the worst happens anyway, we restore from a clean backup, close the hole and tell you plainly what happened.
Am I locked into a contract?
No. Maintenance is a rolling monthly arrangement. If you leave, you keep your site, your content and your access, and we hand everything over tidily.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the size and complexity of your site. A simple brochure site costs much less to look after than an online shop. The free health check comes with a clear monthly price.
