Business computer repair in Manchester and Stockport

When an office PC, reception computer or design workstation stops working, the problem is lost time as much as the hardware. We collect the machine, find the fault, agree the cost with you and return it working, with a VAT invoice and a record of what was done.

What we repair for businesses

We diagnose the fault, then replace or upgrade the failed part. We do not carry out board-level or soldering repairs, so if a motherboard has failed we replace it as a part or tell you plainly when a machine is not worth fixing.

Office desktops

Brand-name business PCs such as Dell OptiPlex and HP ProDesk that will not start, restart on their own, or have become too slow to work on.

Workstations

CAD, design and editing machines where cooling, power supplies and graphics cards take the strain. We have replaced a failed water cooler on a Manchester CAD PC with a quieter, more reliable air cooler.

Failing drives

A drive that clicks, freezes or will not boot. We copy what we can to a new drive first, so the machine comes back with its files and software intact where the old drive allows it.

Upgrades that extend life

An SSD, more memory or a new power supply often turns a slow office PC into a usable one for a fraction of the cost of replacing it.

Windows problems

Boot loops, failed updates and corrupted installs, repaired or reinstalled with your data kept wherever possible.

Honest replacement advice

If a machine is old enough that repair is poor value, we say so, and can move your data to its replacement.

How business repairs work

Our DBS-vetted driver collects and returns devices on weekday mornings, within about five miles of our Ancoats and Miles Platting offices. That takes in central Manchester, Salford and most neighbouring areas. We do not repair on your premises, and our offices are open by appointment only.

Stockport businesses: parts of Stockport fall outside our collection area. Tell us your postcode and we will confirm the options before anything is booked, which may include a drop-off by appointment. Remote support works anywhere.

You can send several machines in one collection. Label each one with the user’s name and a short description of the fault, and we will quote each machine separately so you can decide which are worth repairing.

Fees, warranty and invoices

Our standard service fee is £75 including VAT. If a part is needed, we quote it before any work starts. If you decide not to go ahead after we have assessed the device, the diagnostic fee is £25. Repairs are covered by a 90-day parts and labour warranty, which does not cover liquid or accidental damage. Payment is due before the device comes back to you, and we issue a VAT invoice for every job.

Your company data

Office machines hold client files, email and accounts. We handle them accordingly.

What we do

  • Keep devices in our workshop, not left in vehicles or with third parties
  • Only open the files we need to test the repair
  • Copy data to a new drive when we replace a failing one, where the old drive allows it
  • Work with your IT provider or administrator if the machine is managed

What we will never ask for

  • Your staff’s passwords by email or through a form
  • BitLocker recovery keys sent in plain email
  • Access to systems unrelated to the repair
  • Removal of your security software without your agreement

Evidence from our workshop

Some recent desktop jobs we have written up in detail: a CAD workstation with a failed water cooler, a gaming-class desktop with random crashes, and a custom PC showing no signal in Salford. For consumer desktop and gaming PC repairs, see our PC repair service.

Questions

Can you repair our computers at our office?
No. We collect machines and repair them in our workshop, then return them. For software problems, remote support is often quicker than a collection.
Do you provide VAT invoices?
Yes. Every job has a VAT invoice showing what was done and what was supplied.
What does it cost?
Our standard service fee is £75 including VAT, plus any parts, which we quote before starting. If you decide not to go ahead after assessment, the diagnostic fee is £25.
Our PCs are managed by an IT company. Can you still help?
Yes, as long as your IT provider or administrator agrees. Managed machines often need their own team to release or re-enrol them after a repair, so we coordinate with them.
