Reviews From Our Celebrity Clients
I am really pleased that I contacted Admir for help to solve a longstanding problem with my computer. He provided a first class service, giving me a quote for the job in advance and coming out to my place of work. It was a tricky problem that others have tried to sort out for me but Admir did get to the bottom of what was the source and fixed it. He is a pleasant trustworthy person in my experience, very capable and I would have no hesitation in recommending him.
I have used Manchester PC Repairs several times and have found them to be punctual, efficient and always effective in resolving any of our PC Problems. We would highly recommend them.
Very efficient service. Honest and pleasant. Came to my house at a mutually convenient time to look at the laptop to diagnose the problem and provided me with an affordable solution. I would wholeheartedly recommend this service.
Admir was fantastic. We had a sudden corrupted hard drive problem just weeks ahead of A levels with two vital files which hadn’t been backed up yet. Admir came out the same day – at the weekend – and recovered the files before installing a new hard drive. It’s worked perfectly ever since. I can’t recommend him highly enough.
The annoyance of my hardrive breaking was made much less stressful having a collection and delivery service to and from my house. The service was speedy and all information was clearly communicated. Thanks!
Admir did a great job repairing my PC software issue that locked me out. He managed to save all my important docs which I thought were lost FOREVER!! I will definitely use his services again for any problems in the future.
Local history
The Ancoats name originates back to the 13th century as ‘Elnecoy’, which means lonely cottages, but the Anglo Saxon word for a cottage was Cots, so Cotes is a derivative of that so the name Ancoats has very deep roots!
The area was open fields up to the middle of the eighteenth century, before being developed for housing for mill workers during the industrial revolution. Notably, Richard Arkwright introduced the first steam-powered textile mill to Ancoats in 1782. The original mill building actually survived until the 1940s blitz.
As the hub of the local textile industry, Ancoats is known for being the world’s first industrial suburb. You can still see this history around the area with many of the original textile mills now being converted into trendy flats, but still managing to hold on to their period charm.
This is an eclectic town that is a nice blend of old and new. There are so many historical gems hidden here that give away its industrious past, but it is also home to many modern developments, with more being planned today.
Ancoats is a popular hotspot
Ancoats is now a very desirable place to live, especially for young people that work in Manchester city or want to be close to all the delights the city has to offer. Islington Wharf Locks, which runs alongside the canal close to the old Lock Keepers cottage, is a particularly nice modern development that attracts people wanting a new home but is still in keeping with the history of the area.
It also helps that Ancoats is so close to the city that you can be in Piccadilly Gardens in around ten minutes by foot, depending on how fast you walk. This means that if you enjoy the nightlife of Ancoats with its many bars and eateries, you can take in even more bars, restaurants and clubs in the city just a short distance away.
In fact, the city is so close by that you can have a good night out and don’t need to spend a fortune on a taxi home. The walk back home to Ancoats can help to sober you up and the fresh air before bed will certainly help you to sleep!
Local Ancoats attractions
One of the reasons why we love having our business here in Ancoats is the amazing beauty of the area. There are some lovely spots here that we are very fond of, in particular Cutting Room Square, also known as Little Italy, is a large architecturally beautiful square which is jam-packed in the summertime with people sitting outdoors sipping drinks.
The atmosphere is so cosmopolitan here that sometimes you forget you are so close to Manchester city! We also love Islington Marina, which is a beautiful place too, and is ideal when you want to find a quiet spot to read a book or do a bit of networking away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Foodie heaven
Another reason why Manchester PC loves having our base here is that Ancoats is street food heaven! We love trying new things out and like the fact that the Ancoats General Store hosts ‘Scrancoats’, which is a scheme were a different pop-up street food vendor appears each Thursday in store.
You can also head to Mayfield Depot, which is home to Grub Food Fair, for even more street food variety.
Well connected Ancoats
In addition to being within easy walking distance to central Manchester, Ancoats is also well connected to Greater Manchester via the New Islington Tram, which can take you north towards Prestwich, Ashton, Ramsbottom and Bury, or south to Chorlton and Didsbury.
If you work in London, Manchester Piccadilly Train Station is also very close for commuting to London. But you don’t need to take your broken laptop to London to get fixed – you can have it repaired at home or office with Manchester PC.

Real Customers, Real Repairs
First time using Manchester PC, as I usually try to fix things myself, but I got to the point where I wasn’t able to. They made the whole process a breeze, understanding my situation and the possible issues. They booked me a slot that worked around my schedule and were very professional the whole way through. They fixed my problem very quickly while reassuring me the whole time. There’s not one thing I could complain about (they even cleaned my PC!). Great work!
My screen got water damaged. I’m glad this company was able to do pick up and delivery as I don’t drive and they make the process simple. Staff were lovely when I checked for an update. Price was better than having to buy a new laptop too. Would definitely recommend their services.
Highly recommend this company. My water bottle leaked on my laptop. I completed the form on the website and selected a time and day for them to collect it. They are transparent about pricing and would seek permission first if it needed other pieces. They dropped it off this morning and it’s back to normal.
Top notch. Reliable, able, competitively priced. I’m trying to keep an ancient machine working a little while longer and they totally understood the brief. Plus they pick up and deliver for free in the local area. Also, their emails are very funny and brighten the dampest Mancunian day.
I needed a screen replacement and the service was so quick and convenient, they pick up and drop off to your home! When I had a later issue I was so relieved they offer a 3 month warranty on parts. Admir went above and beyond and kept me constantly updated. They even lent me a spare laptop for a conference while mine was being repaired! Reliable and trustworthy.
I am delighted with the work Manchester PC has done on my laptops over the years. If anything goes wrong, I know I can rely on a polite, speedy, cost effective and expert response from the team.
